Imphal: Manipur Drivers’ Association (MDA) has extended monetary assistance to an injured driver, Moirangthem Ibohanbi, who faced an accident at Barak on Wednesday.
MDA president Babudhon Saikhomba said with the ambulance of the association Ibohanbi was picked up and admitted at Raj Medicity for treatment.
The association was established to provide necessary assistance to the drivers at the time of need. The funds of the association are collected from the drivers so that the association could deliver to the drivers when required, Babudhon said.
Wife of the injured Apabi said to meet the family needs her husband has been running on the national highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam) as a transport truck driver by staying at a rented house located at New Checkon in Imphal.
She appreciated MDA for taking care of her husband and for handing over monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 for further treatment.
Moirangthem Ibohanbi and his family reside at Churachandpur district have been staying at the rented home.
