Imphal: Tengnoupal Batallion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) foiled illegal ferrying of suspected brown sugar at Khudengthabi check post.
During the routine check at the post, an individual driving a Hyundai i10 car was found to be carrying 14 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing around 181 grams in a small bag. The contraband drugs were being ferried from Moreh to Kohima, the Assam Rifles said.
The detained driver and the recovered items have been handed over to Moreh police station, it added.
