Imphal: About 17 inaugurated projects of five departments of Manipur were handed over to the people of Bishnupur district during a ceremony held by the district administration at the multipurpose hall of Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Saturday.
The ceremony was held just as an aftermath of the 4 years celebration of the BJP led government of Manipur with inauguration of a series of developmental projects.
The projects were dispensed in presence of minister Th Satyabrata, the minister in charge of the concerned district.
The projects under horticulture and soil conservation department include cold room and pre cooling unit at Khoijuman-Oinam Assembly Constituency (AC) with Rs 20 lakhs budgetary allocation and rural market at Tronglaobi, Moirang AC with Rs.13.75 lakhs budgetary allocation.
Setting up of PHC Oinam Health and Wellness Centre at Oinam AC, Sub Centre Ishok HWC at Nambol AC,SC Sanjenbam HWC at Nambol AC,SC Keibul HWC at Thanga AC, SC Saiton HWC at Kumbi AC,SCAwang Kumbi HWC at Kumbi AC,SC Pombikhok HWC at Kumbi AC, SC Ithai HWC at Kumbi AC and SC Chairel Leingangtabi HWC at Kumbi AC are the main projects of the health and family welfare department.
The projects to be undertaken under the public health engineering department include construction of water supply scheme under the North East Council at Laisoipat, Yenapat and Awangsoi at Oinam AC.
Establishment of Naorem Junior High School at Nambol AC and Thoya Kokilbon Primary School at Moirang AC, setting up of Science Laboratory Building of SK Women’s College at Nambol AC and One Stop Centre at Bishnupur Mini Secretariat at Bishnupur AC are the lists of projects to be undertaken under the education (S) department.
Project of the sericulture department includes construction of type I Quarter at Ngangkhalawai at Moirang AC with Rs 15 lakhs budgetary allocation.
Satyabrata said bringing hill-valley equality, ensuring peace and prosperity and a state free from bandhs, blockades are some of the major achievements of the BJP led government. The government is able to serve the health needs of the people of Manipur through the Chief Minister gi Hakshelgi Tengbang Scheme, he added.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh is the main architect of all these achievements, he said.
The labour minister Satyabrata also appealed the gathering to vaccinate in order to protect from the Covid virus disease as vaccination is quite free from side-effects.
Government chief whip P. Sharatchandra Singh highlighted that Manipur is marching ahead for a progressive state with sustainable development goals by 2020, doing away with gender bias and women empowerment and targeting amicable solution to diseases and environmental hazards.
MLA L Radhakishore said “If we can identify ourselves well, then only we can be called civilised. Our basic identity, culture, economy and civilisation depends to a large extent on the surrounding environment and nature.”
MLA T. Robindro said CM Biren’s innovative schemes and policies like Go to Hills, Go to Village,S tart Up, Stand Up etc. help bring the state on the path to development apart from bridging the hill-valley divide. People can sense a feeling that there is light in darkness, he noted.
