Drivers’ council asks Biren to press Centre for a better NH- 37

Imphal: Transporters and Drivers’ Council (TDC) urged chief minster N. Biren to press the centre for a better road connectivity of Imphal-Jiribam national highway with the initiatives of the construction of two main bridges on NH-37 which is likely to be inaugurated by June.

TDC president H. Ranjit said after considering the present status of the construction of Makru bridge, the bridge can be inaugurated by May. For this the council appreciated chief minister N. Biren Singh.

He said TDC has been demanding for construction of the two bridges Makru and Barak since 2010. With the initiatives of the present Biren led government construction of the two bridges are going to be completed in the next few months, he added.

He urged the chief minister to press the Centre for a better road connectivity condition along the national highway (Imphal-Jiribam). However the commuters and transporters will continue facing problems along the national highway if the highway is renovated properly with black topping.

Ranjit extend his appreciation towards Biren led government for inaugurating Irang bailey bridge in a short period.

He also urged the government to complete Barak RCC bridge for inauguration by June before monsoon season ascends.
