Imphal: Bodies of two deceased young boys who were brought to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital on Thursday were tested positive for Covid-19.
This was informed by RIMS deputy medical superintendent N. Sanjib Singh to Bishnupur district deputy commissioner in an official letter informing cases of Covid-19 positive bodies of deceased persons and necessary disposal of the lifeless bodies.
The two deceased persons were boys of 19 and 18 years of ages from Potshangbam Mayai Leikai and Louchulbung Aimol village respectively.
According to the source the bodies were brought to the hospital by a junior officer of Moirang Police for autopsy in connection with an accident case.
As per the prerequisite for autopsy, Covid-19 tests were done and found that both the deceased persons were found positive for Covid-I9 by RAT.
The two bodies were kept at RIMS morgue, the hospital authority mentioned while informing to take up the needful for disposal of the bodies.
