Imphal: Protesting against the planting of bomb at the residence of executive engineer, PHED, Kakching division, RK Surendra, locals of Eastern Popular Club, Khurai and Coordinating Body Khurai staged sit-in at the community hall of Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai, Imphal East on Sunday.
A Chinese made hand grenade was planted at the residential gate of Surendra located at Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai, Imphal near oil pump on Friday evening.
President of Eastern Popular Club, Khurai, Salam Birendra Singh said locals of the area strongly condemn planting of bomb in residential area. If the bomb had exploded innocent people could have been victims, he added.
Those who were involved in the bomb threat should clarify to the public, he said and appealed not to create panicky atmosphere in the locality and urged not to repeat the same.
