Assam Rifles seizes Brown Sugar concealed in vegetable sack

Imphal: Assam Rifles continued its service against drug trafficking in Manipur by intercepting Brown Sugar transportation at Singhat.

On Monday troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a bus at a check post established at Singhat and recovered 330 grams of Brown Sugar concealed in 22 soap cases being carried inside a vegetable sack.

The cost of the narcotics seized is estimated to be nearly Rs 66 Lakh, Assam Rifles said.

​The seized narcotics were handed over at Singhat Police station for further investigation, it added.
