Imphal: Assam Rifles continued its service against drug trafficking in Manipur by intercepting Brown Sugar transportation at Singhat.
On Monday troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a bus at a check post established at Singhat and recovered 330 grams of Brown Sugar concealed in 22 soap cases being carried inside a vegetable sack.
The cost of the narcotics seized is estimated to be nearly Rs 66 Lakh, Assam Rifles said.
The seized narcotics were handed over at Singhat Police station for further investigation, it added.
