Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a truck carrying nearly 2.5 tonnes of beetle nuts near Madonching area Chandel district on Monday.
The assessed market value of the recovered items is Rs 13.75 Lakh.
A total of 25 bags, weighing 100kg each were recovered. The seized items and two individuals has been handed over to Molcham Police station for further investigation.
On the same day troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a pickup van while moving towards Imphal, carrying textile products worth Rs 7.53 Lakh.
On scrutinizing the vehicle, large consignment of textiles products to include blankets, sweaters, inner wear, school bags, kit bags, caps and floor mats were recovered.
The recovered items along with the detainees have been handed over to customs department for further investigations, the Assam Rifles said.
