3 deaths reported due to COVID-19, 51 tested positive

Imphal: Manipur reported 3 deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours further pushing the death toll to 361.

The deceased persons are 71 year-old male from Imphal West, 77 year-old male from Bishnupur and 65 year-old female from Kangpokpi districts. They expired at RIMS, Shija Hospital and Raj Medicity respectively.

In the past 24 hours, 51 persons from general population were tested positive for COVID-19 out of which 26 are males and 25 are females. They were tested at JNIMS (9), RIMS (5), Hillside (2), Horizon (1), Escent Diagnostics (3), Shija Hospital (4), Raj Medicity (2), Thoubal (4), Kakching (19) and Babina Diagnostics (2).

The positive persons belong to Imphal West (10), Imphal East (13), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (20), Senapati (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts. “All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room.

Meanwhile during the same time frame, 47 persons were recovered and discharged from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (30), JNIMS (5), SHRI (2), PR Kakching (1), Bishnupur (4) and Rajmed (3).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,332 with 24,951 from general population and 3,381 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 26,862 out of which 23,595 are general population and 3,267 are central security personnel. The number of active cases is 1,109 with 999 and 110 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 94.81%.
