Imphal: Manipur Police has prevented bomb blast to be carried out in Chandel before Christmas on behalf of NSCN (KNK).
An intelligence input was received whereby one Sangkhail Biren, 59, son of late SK. Dinamani of Thamlakhulen village, Chandel, a cadre of NSCN had been reportedly assigned to carry out bombing/explosions in Chandel before Christmas on behalf of NSCN (KNK), police said.
They also threatened the national construction companies like Krishna Construction Company for ransom and also threatened the DFO, Chandel for ransom through phone, the source added.
The said individual was intercepted at Chandel and was arrested.
A case has been registered at Chandel Police station. The accused person has been remanded into judicial custody for 15 days by the court of CJM, Chandel.
