Imphal: Manipur reported two new deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours pushing the death toll to 324.
The deceased persons are two males aged 76 and 55 years from Imphal West district. They expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS, Imphal respectively.
In the past 24 hours, 152 persons were recovered and discharged from RIMS (7), JNIMS (8), Home Isolation (95), UNACCO (10), Shija Hospital (8), RD Wing (3), PR Kakching (10), TK Ukhrul (5), Rajmed (1), Thoubal (3) and Bishnupur (1). The recovery rate is increased to 90.92%.
The state also recorded a decrease in COVID-19 positive cases to 54 during the same period of time out of which 53 came from general population and 1 from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.
They were tested at JNIMS (5), RIMS (3), Imphal West (2), Mother’s Care (1), CMC (2), Escent Diagnostics (2), Shija Hospital (7), Jivan Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (5), Thoubal (1), Churachandpur (1), Ukhrul (3), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (2) and Babina Diagnostics (11).
Among the positive cases from general population, 31 are males and 22 are females. They belong to Imphal West (17), Imphal East (14), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (4), Tamenglong (7), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (2) districts.
“All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their 5 pm report.
After reconciliation with the reports of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the cumulative number of positive cases is 27,209 with 23,904 from general population and 3,305 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 24,739 out of which 21,647 are from general population and 3,092 are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,146 with 1,937 and 209 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively.
