174 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Manipur, 144 recovered

Imphal: Manipur recorded 174 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours, out of which 136 belong to general population and the remaining 38 belong to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.

They were tested at JNIMS (93), RIMS (22), Imphal East (4), Imphal West (3), Maipakpi (1), Acme (1), Escent Diagnostics (3), Shija Hospital (10), Jivan Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (9), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (11), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (4), Kangpokpi (1) and Babina Diagnostics (6).

Among the positive cases from general population, 72 are males and 64 are females. They belong to Imphal West (45), Imphal East (41), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (2), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (4), Chandel (2), Kangpokpi (3), Senapati (2) and Churachandpur (12) districts.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their 5 pm report on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, two males aged 36 and 41 years from Imphal East district expired at JNIMS, Imphal. The cumulative number of deaths is 320.

Meanwhile, 144 persons were recovered and discharged from RIMS (20), JNIMS (7), CAPF (4), Home Isolation (74), LKK (2), UNACCO (1), RD Wing (21), Shri (5), TK Ukhrul (2), Thoubal (7) and Tamenglong (1) in the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 26,859 with 23,581 from general population and 3,278 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 23,541 out of which 20,611 are from general population and 2,930 are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,998 with 2,654 and 344 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 87.64%.
