Imphal: Manipur added 180 fresh COVID-19 cases bringing the cumulative positive cases to 20,957.
In the past 24 hours, 176 persons from general population and 4 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed positive of COVID-19. They were tested at JNIMS (17), RIMS (38), Imphal East (2), Imphal West (9), RD Wing (4), CMC (1), Hillside (1), Acme (1), Escent Diagnostics (3), Asian Hospital (1), Nazareth (1), Samaritan (1), Shija Hospital (13), Raj Medicity (8), Jevan Hospital (2), Thoubal (15), Bishnupur (10), Tamenglong (14), Churachandpur (4), Pherzawl (2), Kangpokpi (13), Jiribam (2) and Babina Diagnostics (18).
Among the general population, 98 were males and 78 were females. The positive cases from general population belong to Imphal West (68), Imphal East (30), Thoubal (22), Bishnupur (15), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (14), Tengmoupal (2), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (12), Churachandpur (5), Pherzawl (1), Chandel (2) and Jiribam (2).
COVID common control room in their report said, “All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.”
Two males aged 35 and 87 years expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively in the past 24 hours. Both of them belonged to Imphal West district. With this, the cumulative number of deaths is 202.
Meanwhile, 164 persons were recovered and discharged in the last 24 hours. They were from Home Isolation (93), JNIMS (7), LKK (7), LANVA (1), UNACCO (6), TK Ukhrul (1), Sadbhavna (4), Bal Bhavan (2), Thoubal (34), Bishnupur (2), Lamding (4), Kangpokpi (2) and Tamenglong (1).
According to 5pm report on Wednesday, the cumulative number of positive cases is 20,957 with 18,117 from General Population and 2,840 from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 17,698 out of which 14,766 are from General Population and 2,604 are from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of active cases is 3,057 with 2,825 from General Population and 232 from Central Security Personnel. The recovery rate is increased to 84.44%.
