Henry urges people of the state to set aside differences to promote integrity and unity

Imphal: Minister for Social Welfare Henry Okram said that we must forgive each other’s mistakes to bring integrity and unity in the State. This was stated by him at the Quami Ekta Diwas held at Government Dance College, Palace Compound, Imphal.

Speaking as Chief Guest of the function, Henry Okram stated that we must stop all forms of discrimination and keep aside our differences to promote unity in the State. Any issues or differences can be settled through dialogue, he added. He mentioned that Quami Ekta Diwas shares the message of unity in the diversity and goodwill among sections of the society.

Stating that various schemes have been initiated under the present BJP led government, the Minister said that the government is working tirelessly for the upliftment and welfare of the people at the grassroots level. He appealed to the people to extend their love and support to the government in bringing peace, tranquillity and unity in the State. Henry Okram said that under the present regime, there is a stronger sense of emotional integration among hills and valley of the State.

On the occasion, Henry Okram announced that the government will launch a skill development training program for differently abled persons soon.

During the function, students of B.B. Paul Mental Development Home, Ideal Blind School, Home for the Blind and Government Dance College presented songs and cultural dances.

Commissioner (Art and Culture) M. Joy Singh, Director (Social Welfare and Art and Culture) Ng. Uttam, officials of Art and Culture and Social Welfare and others attended the function. The program is jointly organised by Department of Social Welfare and Art and Culture, Government of Manipur. (DIPR)
