Covid-19 death toll rises to 57 in Manipur

Imphal: With two more Covid-19 related death cases recorded in the past 24 hours as on Sunday at 5 pm, Covid-19 death toll has risen to 57 in Manipur.

The two victims of the contagion were males aged 67 years and 53 years both from Imphal East expired at JNIMS.

Manipur Covid-19 common control room said in the past 24 hours, 168 persons from general population and two personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 27; Tengnoupal – 3; Raj Medicity – 2; Imphal East RAT – 14; Thoubal – 9: Shija Hospital – 3; Imphal West RAT – 58; Churachandpur – 5; Bishnupur – 7; RD Wing – 2; Christian Hospital – 1; Kangpokpi- 4; Maipakpi Hospital – 1; JNIMS RAT – 2; Imphal Hospital 8; Tamenglong TrueNat – 1; Babina Diagnostics – 13; RIMS RTPCR – 10. They are from Imphal
West-98; Tamenglong 15; Imphal East – 21; Thoubal 10; Kamjong – 1; Churachandpur – 5; Bishnupur -8; Senapati – 3; Noney – 1. Kangpokpi – 6, it added.

Five persons (Churachndpur-1, Bishnupur-1, Kangpokpi – 3) out of the general population
are returnees from other states while the rest 163 are locals without any significant
travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary
medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

During the 24 hours 44 persons were discharged from RIMS (2), JNIMS (3), CCC Tamenglong (6), CCC
Lamboikhongnangkhong (8), Senapati (1) and CCC Thoubal (24) after they were found Covif-19 free on RT PCR test,

The cumulative number of positive cases is 8894. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 6767. The number of active cases is 2070 (general Population – 1755 and central security personnel -315). The recovery rate is 76.08 percent, the control room said.
