Positive cases for COVID-19  rise to 1764 in Manipur

Imphal: With the confirmation of 64 persons positive for COVID-19 commutative positive cases have reached 1764 as on Thursday.

The 64 new cases (45 males, 19 females) were confirmed at VRDLs of RIMS (48) and JNIMS (16).

They belong to the districts of Churachandpur (5), Imphal West (33), Kakching (1), Kamjong (1), Tamenglong (3), Thoubal (1), Senapati (11) and Ukhrul (9).

They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All (expect one volunteer from ITI, QC Lilong, Thoubal) are returnees from other states. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state COVID-19 common control room said.

It said in the past twenty four hours, 49 persons were discharged from CCCs of Meitram, I/W (18), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (9), Ukhrul (12) and COVID Care Facility, JNIMS (2) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

The numbers of active and recovered cases are 635 and 1129 respectively. The recovery rate is 64.00 percent, the control room said.
