Imphal: A team of Imphal West Narcotic Cell arrested two persons for transporting betel leaves from Canchipur near Catholic School, here, on Thursday.
The duo was identified as Haominthang Hanghal (Driver), 24, son of Daniel Hanghal of Molnom village Kangpokpi district and Nahakpam Memi Devi, 50, wife of late N. Marjit Singh of Thoubal Awang Leikai.
They were held along with one Bolero white in colour bearing registration number MN07 D-2973 with flag pole rod.
Ten bunches of betel leaves wrapped with cloths were recovered from their possession.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Singjamei Police station for taking further necessary action.
