Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 22, 2020: Works Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh today instructed private companies to resume construction projects of national highways and bridges outside the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities.
A press release by DIPR said that the Minister held a meeting with the company representatives and officials of the Public Works Department on Wednesday at his office.
He instructed company representatives to strictly adhere to the protocol including maintaining social distancing, adequate arrangements for temperature screening of workers and to disinfect premises and works sites. He also instructed to ensure that the workers are already available on site and no workers be brought in from outside and also instructed to ensure that all projects meet the datelines.
The meeting was also attended by Commissioner Works RK Dinesh Singh, PWD Chief Engineer and other officials of the department.
