Imphal: Health minister L. Jayentakumar Singh today reviewed activities taken up by AYUSH department in view of Covid-19 pandemic. Minister chaired a meeting of the department held on Tuesday at his secretariat office.
The meeting discussed possibility of extending manpower support to doctors, nurses and other medical staff at the quarantine centres for Covid-19 and supply of materials required in the fight against Covid-19 to government and private hospitals by AYUSH department.
It was also decided to launch extensive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and Behavioural Communication Change (BCC) campaigns on Covid-19 to create more awareness with particular focus on older people and women.
V. Vumlunmang, Principal Secretary, H&FW, Dr. Y. Lukhoi, Director, AYUSH, Dr. A. Guneshwore Sharma, Member Secretary, Manipur AYUSH Society and other officials of the department were present in the meeting.
