Cooking gas black-marketers held

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 24, 2020: Manipur Police has arrested two non-locals for black-marketers cooking gas on Wednesday.

The two persons were apprehended separately from different locations in Imphal.

The first person, identified as Hidayananda Sah, 42, from Bihar, at present staying at Majorkhul, Imphal, was arrested from Majorkhul Imphal at 7:30 pm and seized one refilled LPG cylinder  and  three empty cylinders from his possession for selling LPG cylinder for his personal gain.

A regular case has been registered for investigation and remanded the accused into judicial custody by the Duty Magistrate, Imphal West.

The person, identified as Naga Shah, 42, presently residing at Ragailong Village at about 1 pm from his rented room at Ragailong and recovered three refilled gas cylinders and nine empty cylinders. Twenty-seven gas books were recovered from his house and seized. A case was registered at Imphal Police station. The arrested accused person and seized gas cylinders with gas books were produced before the duty magistrate on Thursday and remanded into Judicial custody.
