Addressing a press conference held today at his official chamber in Manipur Secretariat, Deputy Chief Minister said, we have the intentions to extend support and help any agency which are meant for the welfare of people. Rejecting a media report on alleged misusing of power by himself and another cabinet colleague ignoring, harassing and blackmailing six Autonomous District Councils (ADCs), Shri Joykumar Singh said, the report published in the media is completely baseless and false. He said, we have every reason to reject that report that no such act has been done so far.

Clarifying that excess authorisation proposals has to be examined, Shri Joykumar Singh said, proposals made by finance department regarding salaries payment of Education department of six ADCs has to be considered very carefully as it has many due components like salaries payment of 133 PrimaryTeachers and 894 Chowkidars which have been regularised in 2016-17 amounting to a total of around 19 crores. Also, a total of around 11 crores have also been proposed by the finance department for backlog payment of arrears which were applied in 2009-10.
