Imphal, Sep 21: The All India Football Federation along with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in encouraging the youth to the forthcoming U-17 World Cup 2017 in India, has distributed football and kits to during a football festival held at Artificial Turf, Khuman Lampak under its scheme of Mission 11 Million.
The Mission 11 Million scheme is aimed in imparting basic knowledge of the game to 11 million childrens by distributing football and kits. Around 600 kids and players from different schools of the state participated in the festival which saw Arjuna Awardee O.Bembem Devi, AFC’ A’ License holder L.Chaoba Devi and international footballer P.Renedy Singh imparting basic knowledge of the game.
Kids with having basic idea of the game and shown extra talent were provided with watches along with footbal kits. The programme is designed for childrens between the age group of 6 to 14 years.
Arjuna Awardee O.Bembem Devi has lauded the effort of the AIFF and Ministry of YAS for the initiative and said that such programme will certainly helped in tapping talent for the future growth of the game. She also spoke about of the importance of studies too and to share equal time to become a professional player.
It can be mentioned that Mission 11 Million, Manipur chapter has distributed footballs to schools in Imphal East and Thoubal District.
