Workshop on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) concluded today with the signing of MoU between Department of Finance, Govt. of Manipur and GeM for procurement of public goods and services through the GeM portal. The 2-Day workshop which started from yesterday was organized by the Dept. of IT, and Dept. of Finance, Govt. of Manipur in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government at Classic Grande, Imphal.
The Deputy Chief Minister Shri Y. Joykumar and several senior officials from the Govt. of Manipur attended the inaugural concluding function. While presenting his addressing the participants, Deputy Chief Minister said that the Govt. of Manipur support this initiative and exhorted the sellers to register on the GeM portal.
The workshop which was aimed at sensitizing the Government users and the sellers on procurement through GeM portal, witnessed a huge participation from both the sides. The event signifies the commitment of Govt. of Manipur in utilization of GeM portal for public procurement by making necessary amendments to the GFR rules as mandated by Ministry of Finance. National Institute for Smart Government will further be partnering with GeM for on boarding of more Government buyers across North East and other states and UTs in the country.
