Two boys from CC Higher Secondary School, a government school appeared as golden boys in this year’s Higher Secondary Exam.
Thounaojam Loyangamba Meitei stood 4th in the commerce stream while Loukrapam Michael Singh stood 11th in Arts stream twinkle among the high fliers despite of their sad background.
Thounaojam Loyangamba Meitei, son of Th. Banamali Meitei and Ichal Leima from Keibi Khullen Meiyai Leikai challenges his life miseries by struggle to get the light of education involving as a labourer. He takes up the job since he began his XI class. He said, he never dreamt of holding a position in the exam, but he naturally tried to dilute everything in the syllabus.
He secured 351 marks and got letter mark in alternative English.
Loukrapam Michael Singh L. Ningthem Singh from Yairipok Nungaipokpi secured 412 marks and got letter marks in all the six subjects.
Michael’s father works collecting pebbles and sand while his mother runs a local snacks and tea stall. He was working at Mema Bottle firm and later works as a sweeper at Khwairamband Bazar. He is fond of Thang Ta art and practices at KIMACS. He wants to continue his study outside the state but he feels his parents will not be able to support his dream. He draws attention of the government for assistance.
Education Minister, Th. Radheshyam declared the examination result of Higher Secondary Examination, 2017 yesterday. This year’s overall passed percentage is 68.81 higher than the examination passed percentage of 2015 and 2016 which recorded 61.09 % and 65.22 % respectively.
