Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Shri Letpao Haokip has shown dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work execution for the upgradation of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex as he inspected yesterday.
Regretting over the slow pace of the work Letpao Haokip issued strict instructions to the officials to speed up the works and ensure their completion at an earliest date.
The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner (YAS) Shri H. Deleep Singh, Project Director of Manipur Development Society (MDS) Shri Y. Ningthem, other officials of YAS and engineers of MDS. They inspected the ongoing constructions of gallery at Artificial Turf, Auditorium, National Sports Academy, Aquatic Complex, Hockey Stadium, new Sports Hostel, Weightlifting hall and Indoor Stadium at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
During the inspection, it was brought to the knowledge of the Minister that the filtration plant at the Aquatic complex was not in working condition. The Minister instructed the concerned officials to immediately make the filtration plant functional.
The Minister was also put that many more world-class sports persons can be produced from the State if necessary amount of attention is paid on sports infrastructure development.
