Fresh attack to carriers

Fresh bullet attack to the goods carriers along the National Highway 37 this morning hit one oil loaded truck ferrying towards Imphal.

While the people of the state are struggling with the woes of indefinite economic blockade called by United Naga Council who is said to the frontal organisation of the NSCN-IM, the transporters who are serving the state supplying essential items are facing troubles that would take their lives.

Today’s bullet attack took place at Awangkhul under Noney police at Tamenglong side suspected to have fired by cadres of NSCN IM, said a source. The oil tanker that bore the registration number MN 08T 0016 was hit with four bullets, a front tyre got punctured and the driver’s shield was also damaged.

No injury to the drivers has been seen till the filing of the report.
