Drivers caution over state’s uniform dacoits

Drivers rendering service along the Imphal-Moreh has warned the government to prohibit state security force and VDF personnel from extorting in the name of tax from the van service runners.
Talking to the reporters today here at Manipur Press Club spokesperson of the drivers’ community K. Nabakishore said we are no against the legal tax bound to be paid at Moreh, Pallel and Tengnoupal, but we cannot afford those illegal tax imposed in the form of extortion along Pallel to Imphal.
The drivers drew the attention of the state authority to vigil and stop the free go of the state security personnel force imposing tax to the transporters. “How can we survive when the security personnel who are supposed to secure us from the militant extortion extort us?”
