Imphal, September 9: Sagolband United came up with a late minute goal to beat Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation, Sekmai in the 12th Manipur State League 2017 played at Artificial Turf, Khuman Lampak.
With the onset of the second round of the league, this is Sagolband United second victory as they have earlier beaten Anouba Imagi Mangal, Khabam by a solitary goal to give them six points. Dimapur Road team have three point after beating Muvanlai Athletics.
It was a win win situation for both teams but failed to break the deadlock as the first half went goalless. However with Sagoland United making a flurry of substitution to improve theirs showing in the match, got the break in the 83 minute. Zenith Genuis Mashangva making a run of the right flank, cross it to goalmouth and find theirs Nigerian forward Olarichep Princewell Emeka, who made a deep header for the victory today.
Sagolband United player Patrick Kamei and Dimapur Road player H.Ramananda Singh got a yellow card from K.Brojen.
In another match, Anouba Imagi Mangal came up with theirs first win beating Nambul Mapal Cultural Organisation by a solitary goal. This is Nambul Mapal second defeat in a row. The winning goal for Anouba Imagi Mangal was scored by Md.Fayazuddin in the 25 minute of play. Nambul Mapal player Kh.Milan was booked with a yellow card.
In tomorrow matches, KLASA Keinou will face Neroca FC in the first match while Muvanlai Athletics will meet YPHU Lallambung in the second match.
Imphal West League:
SDC Samurou beat Juvenile Club by 3-1 goals in the 1st Sh.Mani Sharma Memorial Third Division Football League 2017 played at Loitang Khunou, Imphal West. Kishan Naorem scored two goals while H.Ronaldo chip in with a goal. The lone goal for Juvenile Club was scored A.Alex.
In another match, YUC Irom Meijrao beat TDC Mayang Langjing by a solitary goal with Loyumba scoring the winning goal.
Imphal East League:
HUFC Heingang and YVO Huikap had 2-2 goals draw in the N.Apabi Memorial Third Divisoon Football League Tournament 2017 played at ABA Ground. L.Bidyananda and N.Michael scored the leading goal for HUFC team while K.Roshan and Md.Mustafa fetch the equaliser for YVO team.
