All Manipur Students’ Union, AMSU today observed 52nd Hunger Marcher’s Day in commeration of the historic agitation against the artificial food scarcity in 1965, which took the lives of four persons including three students.
Spearheaded by the apex student body large number of students, relatives and friends of the student myrtrs, members of civil society organisations gathered at Singjamei Chinga Macha and paid froral tribute to the portraits of Oinam Nabakumar, Laishram Chaoba, Nongmeikapam Pramodini and Waikhom Nilamani who were killed on August 27, 1965 movement.
Manjit Saraangthem, AMSU leader said, “Lets stay united and no political conspiracy with no politicisation on food grains supply.”
Taking the portraits of of the myrtres on palanquins, students and people took out a rally from Singjamei to DM college campus and gathered at the Multipurpose hall of the college.
