Army chief visits Manipur

General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Chief of the Army Staff visited Imphal today. He was accompanied by Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C Eastern Command and Lt Gen Anil Chauhan, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C 3 Corps.
The COAS was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the state by the local Commanders.The COAS reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations during his visit to the state and appreciated the endeavours of Security Forces. Helauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace & tranquillity in the state and also asked them to continue the good work in a professional manner &in the true spirit of the “Friends of the Manipur”.
The army chief also called on the Honourable Governor of Manipur, Dr NajamaHeptulla. During the interaction, the security situation in the state was discussed and the close coordination &interaction between the State Government &Security Forces was highlighted and well appreciated.
