Commissioner consumer affairs, food and public distribution (CAF & PD) K. Radhakumar Singh has appealed the not to rush for panic buying saying that the state has enough petroleum oil.
In a public notification released the commissioner said There is enough stock and there is no need for panic buying. POL (with dead stock) will cover 11 days, diseal 21 days and SK Oil 9 days. Panic buying will help the tack market and not the general public.
The notice says NH-2 is damaged In the Nagaland sector and is being repaired. Hence, vehicles with essential commodities, loaded tankers etc. will be coming on NH-37 (Imphal – Jiribarn Road). About 300 ft. of the latter road has sunk at Kodand area and steps for its immediate repair has been taken up on a war footing by NHIDCL with the help of the State PWD. Five including three heavy duty machineries are at the site and light vehicles have been allowed to pass through at regular intervals since 09.07.2017.
Heavy and loaded vehicles will be allowed to pass through from the late afternoon on 11.07.2017, if the road is not further deteriorated by natural forces, said Radhakumar.
The commissioner thanked Taorem Prem Singh of HVS Construction Materials Private Ltd. for its contribution in the reparing. The road breaker machine has crossed a dangerous portion and started rock breaking work which is the main hurdle to the present damage control exercise, said the commissioner.
