A flip of coin saw second seed S.Premjit Singh wrested the champion title from top seed Kh.Sanjoy Singh in the 2nd Kh.Ramnarayan Shastree Memorial State Level Open Chess Tournament 2017 played at Juvenile Club, Tera Sapam Leirak.
In the final seventh round, both Premjit Singh and Sanjoy Singh registered theirs victory over theirs respective opponent, to finished with 6.5 point each with same progressive score of 26.5 as well. However to determine the winner, a toss of coin saw Premjit Singh having the last laugh, to collect cash prize of Rs 15,000 with trophy while Sanjoy Singh had to content with Rs 10,000 with runners up trophy.
The last round saw, S.Premjit beating T.Manikanta while Kh.Sanjoy beat H.Somokanta Singh to come up with full point.
Fourth seed H.Jacky beat A.Pholen to bagged the third spot with 5.5 point with a progressive score of 23.5 while H.Somokanta, T.Manikanta, A.Pholen, E.Shasikanta, A.Chakritombi, A.Somorendro finished with 5 point each to occupy upto the ninth spot. A.Binit, Y.Pritamkumar and K.Saveson ended with 4.5 point among the twelve position with varying cash award.
The best boys of meet was bagged by Ksh.Aimson, GA Aerosmith while the veteran prizes of the meet was fetch by H.Maniton, M.Dorendro, S.Kamal Khuman and the best discipline was fetch by Kh.Premchandra and A.Shanta Meitei. Former Patsoi legislature S.Kunjakeshore Singh along with other dignatories distributed the prizes.
