“More than 120 new schools including primary and upper primary schools would be constructed in Manipur soon”, said Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar in a press conference held at Hotel Classic, Imphal yestreday.
Addressing the media, Shri Prakash Javadekar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, the government has achieved many impossible things within 100 days which the previous government couldn’t in last 10-15 years. The new government has brought peace, stability and prosperity, corruption free State with the support of the people in the State and Manipur is stepping towards prosperity and development, he added.
The Union Minister stressed that a review meeting was held to discuss the education scenario of the State with the officials of the concerned department so as to make every possible effort to improve the education system in Manipur. The Central government is lending its hand to give any assistance including financial to deliver quality education for all in the State, he added.
Shri Prakash Javadekar said, “We have found that there are more than 40 schools where there are no students because it is located in such a remote place which is totally inconvenient for students to go to the schools.” He further said that the State government has been directed to enquire into it and take necessary action.
