MoU signed to enhance Professional Competence of Manipur’s civil servants

Imphal: Manipur government has signed a ‘landmark’ Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and Mission Karmayogi, marking a ‘significant’ step towards strengthening public administration and governance in the state at the Old Secretariat, here on Tuesday.

The MoU established a strategic partnership focused on enhancing the professional competence of Manipur’s civil servants through continuous learning, leveraging technology for a more adaptive administrative framework, and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation in governance.

This collaboration aims to align the state’s administrative reforms with the national vision for a New India.

Chief secretary P. K Goel emphasized the historic nature of the partnership. “This MoU symbolizes the commitment to building a future-ready civil service that can effectively serve the unique needs of our state and its people.” The partnership will provide Manipur’s civil servants access to the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) platform, enabling anytime, anywhere learning to bridge knowledge gaps and equip officials with the skills needed to navigate modern governance challenges. It is also aligned towards Mission Karmayogi’s aim of creating a future-ready civil service rooted in Indian ethos and equipped with global competencies. 

Key objectives of the collaboration include enhancing the professional competence of civil servants through continuous learning and development; leveraging technblogy to create a more agile and adaptive administrative framework; fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation in governance; and aligning Manipur’s administrative reforms with the national vision of a New India. 

The chief secretary expressed sincere gratitude to the visiting dignitaries of Capacity Building Commission and Mission Karmayogi for their support and urged state government officials to embrace the initiative with commitment. 

He stressed that the success of this partnership hinges on effective implementation and regular monitoring to ensure tangible improvements in public service delivery.
