Imphal: Manipur government has announced announces an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for those who succumbed to injuries and Rs 2 lakh for those who sustained grievous injuries in the ambush on the 33 Assam Rifles convoy in Bishnupur district.
“The Government of Manipur is deeply concerned about the recent incident of ambush on personnel of the 33 Assam Rifles in which on 19th September 2025, two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred, while five other AR personnel were injured,” N. Ashok Kumar, commissioner-cum-secretary(Home), Government of Manipur said in a statement.
“State government strongly condemn such incident. The government expresses its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this cowardly act and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
In recognition of the sacrifices made by the families of the deceased, the government announces an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for those who succumbed to injuries (death) and Rs 2 lakh for those who sustained grievous injuries. Additionally, the government will extend all necessary support during their treatment and rehabilitation, Ashok Kumar said.
