Dengue cases On the Rise in Manipur 

Imphal: Fifty-three new Dengue cases have been reported by Directorate of Health Services, Manipur on Wednesday, taking the cumulative cases to 1096 since January.

This September, till date, recorded the highest number of Dengue cases in the state with 567 cases followed by August with 399 cases in the current year.

The new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours belonged to Imphal West (34), Imphal East (12), Thoubal (2), Kakching (2), Churachandpur (2), and Ukhrul (1).

Imphal West has so far recorded 809 cases, followed by Imphal East with 141 cases and Thoubal with 32 cases. Bishnupur district recorded 32 cases, Kakching 24, Senapati 14, Ukhrul 12, Kamjong 8, Chandel 7, Churachandpur 3, Tamenglong 3, Tengnoupal 2, Noney 1 and Kangpokpi 1.

Except one death case in Manipur, no other fatality has been reported in this year.

The peak season of Dengue in Manipur is from May to October, according to the Health directorate.
