Imphal: The Directorate of Agriculture, Manipur, has issued a notification informing all private retailers, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and Farmer Producer Organizations holding a valid Fertilizer License or Certificate of Registration to submit documents for obtaining Fertilizer Retailer IDs.
According to the notice, issued by Peter Salam, director of Horticulture, Sanjenthong, all fertilizer retailers must submit a photograph of their shop with GPS details and other necessary documents to the assistant fertilizer officer, Directorate of Agriculture, Sanjenthong, on or before September 30, for the purpose of obtaining Fertilizer Retailer ID. The Retailer ID is being introduced under India’s Integrated Fertilizer Management System or Fertilizer Monitoring System as part of the Fertilizer DBT Schemes of the Government of India. The ID is mandatory to ensure smooth distribution and sale of fertilizers across Manipur, said a government press release.
Retailers who have already obtained the Retailer ID must also apply for a Point of Sale machine through the wholesale dealer mentioned in their Fertilizer License or Certificate of Registration, it added.
The directorate further cautioned that those who fail to obtain the retailer ID by the stipulated date will not be allowed to sell fertilizers in their licensed areas or within the state.
The required documents for obtaining the retailer ID include copy of Fertilizer License, copy of Aadhaar card of the applicant or proprietor, copy of PAN ard of the applicant or proprietor, copy of GST registration, copy of educational qualification certificate of the applicant, retailer shop photo with GPS.
