Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state would bring a solution to the ongoing unrest, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh general secretary K. Sarat Kumar on Wednesday expressed with confidence.
Speaking to reporters at the state BJP office, Sarat Kumar said, “We do not have any concrete official information or schedule of the Prime Minister’s visit to Manipur, but if he comes, he will surely bring a solution to the crisis.”
On the issue of forming a new popular government, he said, “We want to form a new popular government because that would be our government with our chief minister and ministers. Even Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said earlier that it is easy to form the government overnight. We will surely form a new popular government soon.”
Asked if such a government could be in place before the Prime Minister’s proposed visit following his programme in Mizoram, Sarat Kumar responded, “I do not have any idea about it, but if the Centre wants, anything can happen anytime.”
