Imphal: Following assurance from Manipur government, the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter on Tuesday announced to resume the ‘cashless treatment’ for PMJAY cardholders with a immediate effect.
The AHPI said, this decision comes after a very constructive meeting between AHPI members and Sumant Singh, Health commissioner, Manipur, held on Monday at his office.
It had announced on the August 5 the inability of the private hospitals to continue the cashless services under PMJAY Scheme due to a prolonged pending bill and the financial distress of the hospitals.
During the meeting, the health commissioner acknowledged the concerns raised by AHPI and also the patients specially those on dialysis following the prolonged non-payment of PMJAY dues and assured that these pending claims will be addressed on priority, the AHPI said.
It said the commissioner emphasized that the government is deeply concerned about the long-standing delay in reimbursement of hospital bills and is working diligently to clear them at the earliest, ensuring seamless healthcare delivery to the public.
“In light of the government’s commitment, AHPI Manipur Chapter has agreed to immediately withdraw the suspension of PMJAY treatment benefits announced earlier and will continue to provide cashless healthcare services to PMJAY beneficiaries as before.”
“AHPI remains committed to working hand-in-hand with the government to uphold patient welfare and maintain the highest standards of healthcare in the state.”
