Imphal: Manipur Police department has suspended inspector Ningthoujam Devdas Singh, officer-in-charge (OC), police commando Imphal East district, on Sunday over allegations ‘for his grave misconduct’.
An order, issued on Friday by DGP Rajiv Singh, said the officer was suspended under Rule 66 of the Assam Police Manual Part–III, with immediate effect.
During the suspension period, Inspector Devdas Singh’s headquarters will be at the office of the superintendent of police, Imphal East said the suspension order. It said he should not leave without prior permission from the competent authority.
The inspector will be entitled to draw subsistence allowances as per service rules during the suspension, it added.
The grave misconduct leading to the officer’s suspension was not revealed.
