Imphal: Six Naga MLAs of Manipur met governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Thursday to discuss the ongoing 22-month, one-week-long crisis in the state and efforts toward restoring peace.
The six Naga MLAs included Awangbow Newmai, president of the Manipur Naga People’s Front (NPF), a regional political party; three NPF MLAs Khashim Vashum, Losii Dikho, and Leishiyo Keishing; independent MLA J. Kumo Sha; and National People’s Party (NPP) MLA Janghemlung Panmei.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Raj Bhavan Manipur posted: “Discussing issues faced by the people, they assured their cooperation in fostering peace and expressed confidence in the state’s return to normalcy under the Governor’s leadership. #Manipur #PeaceAndProgress.”
Awangbow said, “We mainly discussed bringing normalcy to the state.”
