Imphal: The three individuals arrested earlier in Uttarakhand were brought to Imphal by Manipur Police following an investigation in connection with two FIRs registered in Imphal Police station.
The arrested accused persons had made phone calls to few MLAs of Manipur in February, 2025, following the resignation of the then chief minister N. Biren Singh, impersonating Jay Shah, son of Union Home minister Amit Shah.
They had asked the MLAs for huge fund promising that they would be considered for the post of CM.
The arrested individuals were Uvaish Ahmed, 19, son of Sagir Ahmed of Nidhauri Kala, Etah district, UP; Gaurav Nath, 19, son of Bahadur of House No. 01, Sapera Basti Gharoli PS, Ghazipur, East Delhi-96; and Priyansu Pant, 19, son of Basant Vallab Pant of 1085-A Block GD colony Mayur Vihar Phase iii, PS- Ghazipur of East Delhi.
Further investigation has been taken up said Manipur Police.
