Imphal: In the midst of rising political instability in Manipur following the resignation of chief minister N. Biren Singh and on the last day of gap of six months between Attings, BJP Northeast (NE) in-charge Sambit Patra met with governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and several legislators for the third consecutive day.

Minister L. Susindro met Patra twice at Hotel Imphal before and after Patra’s meeting with the governor at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Susindro declined to comment to reporters.

Patra visited Raj Bhavan at around 10:18 am and left at approximately 11:36 am, heading straight to Hotel Imphal. Details of the hour-long meeting remained undisclosed.

At Hotel Imphal, MLA Karam Shyam, who also met Patra, told reporters that a development on the political instability can be expected in the next two days. “The high command will decide the matter on appointment of new CM.”

The statement of the governor stating the Assembly session declared to be held on February 10 as Null and Void depicts the imposition of Suspended Animation while the chief minister remains as care taker of the government with the administrative power being furnished to the chief secretary.
