Uripok residents protest bomb threat

Imphal: Residents of Uripok Khaidem Leikai on Tuesday protested the recent bomb threat at the residence of Khomdram Nandakumar.

The protest was organized by locals and the Meira Paibi at the locality premises, where participants expressed strong disapproval of such incidents in residential areas.

Maibam Jibanlata, a protestor said, “We strongly condemn the planting of a bomb in our residential area. Who will take responsibility if any untoward incident occurs?”

Any misunderstandings should be resolved through dialogue, not violence, she added.

She warned that such incidents should not be repeated.

The protestors held placards with messages of “Stop Gun Culture,” “Who and Why Was the Bomb Planted?” and “We Condemn Bomb Threats in Residential Areas.”

The demonstration reflected the growing concern among locals over public safety and their demand for peace in the area.
