Equal treatment given to all refugees under UN guidelines: Biren

Imphal: Manipur government has been handling refugees from Myanmar under specific guidelines, chief minister N. Biren Singh said on Thursday.

Biren urged critics to visit and understand the ground realities.

The chief minister made the remarks, responding to media here, on criticisms of the government’s handling of Myanmarese refugees.

“Those who are criticizing should come down and see the ground reality.” “Refugee management is being carried out under the guidelines of the United Nations and under the supervision of the Government of India and the Government of Manipur. Equal treatment is given to all refugees,” he said.
