Imphal: Internally Displaced Persons (Meitei) staying at a relief camp at Phayeng village in Imphal West district of Manipur took their stance to decide their fate during a sit-in rally staged at the village on Sunday.
Punish those terrorists who killed women and children who stayed at relief camps, the dispalced Meitei people demanded referring to those six individuals ( three children and three women) who were abducted from Jiribam and killed by Kuki terrorists.
The demonstrators demanded the government to establish a situation in which they can go back and stay at their original homes, and to stay at the prefabricated houses constructed by the government.
The Kuki attack on Meitei villages that launched on May 3 last year had displced many and have been taking shelter at emergency relief camps.
Kuki people have been demanding for a separate administration in the form of Union Territory under the Indian Constitution. They have been claiming lands of Manipur for their demand.
The displaced people at Phayeng demanded to repeal AFSPA from the state.
