Imphal: Manipur state cabinet have decided to declared Heibok Ching of Langthabal in Imphal West as Reserved Fores

This was announced by IPR minister and government spokesperson Sapam Ranjan Singh on Thursday while briefing cabinet decisions at DIPR auditorium hall.

The decision to classify Heibok Ching as a Reserved Forest was taken during a Cabinet meeting held earlier in the day.

Heibok Ching was listed as a Revenue Village under the Manipur Gazette in 2014, and the designation was amended later.

Ranjan said a survey will be conducted in valley areas to assess all the mole hills, with plans to determine whether these areas should be categorised as reserved or protected forests areas. This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation and preserve the natural landscape of Manipur, he added.

Manipur Good and Services Tax (8th amendment) ordinance, 2024 was also approved in the cabinet, the minister said.
