Imphal: Unknown miscreant(s) shot a youth on his right thigh at the adjoining area of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai and Sorbon Thingel, Imphal West, on Thursday.
The injured person was identified as one Sorokhaibam Amarjit, 26, son of S. Herojit of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai, Imphal West.
He was found with bullet injury at around 7.10pm. Who and why he was shot were yet to be ascertained.
Police on spot inquiry recovered one empty cartridge near the spot. A case has been registered at Imphal police station.
People nearby rushed the injured man at Regional Institution of Medical Science, Lamphel, Imphal West.
