Imphal: Manipur Police director general has alerted all police superintendents and police stations and outposts ‘in view of the present situation in the state’ informing the ADSGP (Intelligence)/ (L&O), IsGP (Zone — I/ II/ III), DIsGP (Range — I/ II/ III/ IV) of the notice.

The office memorandum issued on Wednesday by the additional director general of police L. Kailun (Law and Order), for the police director general, instructed that all officers, police stations, Nakas, etc. should remain ‘high alert’.

This official notice has been leaked and yet not confirmed of its authenticity.

The additional director general of police advised to ensure proper security for arms and ammunitions.

The reason for sounding the alarm bell is not aware to this reporter. However, there has been an alarming situation in the state following the report of infiltration of militants from Myanmar to attack Meitei people on September 18, which did not happened.

Following the development there was a case of people attempting to snatch arms from 7 Manipur Rifles and 2 Manipur Rifles recently.

In the meantime, people in the valley have been agitating in demand to let two Meitei youths free from Kuki hands who have been held hostages since Friday last.
